Vitamins and Sunburn

Can vitamins protect against sunburn?

There are some studies that suggest taking antioxidants like vitamins A and E offer some protection against the free radicals involved in sun damage. These vitamins are often found as ingredients in skin lotions and sunscreens.

Whether taken orally or topically, however, vitamins alone do not offer significant protection against sunburn. Please use a sunscreen with SPF of 15 or greater to avoid the dangers of the sun's rays. If you do happen to burn, sooth and heal the damaged skin with aloe vera gel.
