Too Many Vitamins

My mother always said you can never take too many vitamins. Is this true?

Mom usually knows best, but in this case she isn't accurate - there can be too much of a good thing. Vitamins and minerals are essential for optimum health and may help prevent/cure certain ailments, but they can be toxic in high doses. Stick to the recommended daily intake for each vitamin, mineral, herb or other supplement and exceed only under the guidance of your health care practitioner.
